AI-enabled clinical decision support systems promise more precise diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment selection in mental healthcare. Yet there is a long way from an invention to a tool that clinicians actually use. In this talk, we triangulated three perspectives on that pathway:

  • Innovation – what is being developed, as documented in patents on AI-enabled precision psychiatry tools ( patent review);
  • Translation – which tools have made it to the market as regulated products and how well their evidence base supports their use ( product review);
  • Adoption – how practitioners perceive these tools and what facilitates or hinders their use ( practitioner studies).
