AI-enabled precision psychiatry tools: Current challenges

An invited online guest lecture for approximately 30 students in the M.Sc. programme Human Factors for Healthcare at University College London, given in March 2023 and March 2024.

AI-enabled precision psychiatry tools aim to support diagnosis, the prediction of treatment response, and prognosis in mental healthcare. The lecture covered what these tools currently do (based on our patent review), why so few of them reach clinical practice, and which human factors – such as trust, perceived usefulness, and the fit with clinical workflows – determine whether clinicians use them ( meta-analysis).
