Why AI decision support in ophthalmology is approved but rarely used: An interview study

Interviews with 22 ophthalmology professionals from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland show that adopting AI decision support is not a one-off decision: clinicians repeatedly weigh its added value against its costs – shaped by technological, organizational, and societal factors.
