Skin cancer screening: Would people rather use an AI-enabled app or see a dermatologist?

In two conjoint experiments with almost 1,900 US participants, people clearly preferred a dermatologist over an AI-enabled app for skin cancer screening – but cost, expertise, privacy, and medical mistrust also shaped their choices.
